Letter: Support Judge Busch

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter in support of Judge Kevin T. Busch, who is running for the position of Circuit Judge for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit (Kane, Kendall and Dekalb counties).

Kevin's career in Kane County is well rounded, starting with his time in the State's Attorney's Office where he was Chief of the Criminal Division until he left to start his own practice in 1992. His practice handled criminal, traffic, divorce, real estate,
and just about everything else.

I worked for him for those years as his legal secretary. In those 15 years, I learned a lot about Kevin and his goals.

I found him to be a kind and patient man who really listened to his clients. He understood that his clients were often before a judge for the first time and experiencing the worst time in their lives. He knew that as a lawyer it was his job to treat that person like a person and not just another number.

He does the same thing as a judge; he treats all people with respect and dignity first and foremost. His dream and goal in his career was to become a judge because as he told me many times, he "wants to make a difference" and that he really "wants to be a judge who serves the people who have elected him."

His dream came true when he was appointed as an associate judge in July of 2008. He is now reaching for the higher goal of becoming Circuit Judge to fill the vacancy which has been created by the retirement of the Honorable R. Peter Grometer.

I know this man and I can tell you that a vote for Kevin T. Busch is a vote for a man who has integrity, compassion and has the fairness yet firmness to run a court room the way it needs to be run.

A vote for Kevin Busch will give the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit the right man, the one man who wants to serve the people of Kane, Kendall and Dekalb Counties and make a difference in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit. Please join me and vote for Kevin T. Busch for Circuit Judge of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit on Feb. 2.
