Dixon sex offender, 43, again charged with sexually assaulting girl younger than 17

DIXON – A Dixon child sex offender is in Lee County jail on $250,000 bond, charged with sexually abusing a girl younger than 17.

Robert W. Ramsdell, 43, was charged Jan. 28 with criminal sexual assault, punishable by 4 to 15 years, and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a girl younger that 18, punishable by 3 to 7 years.

The assaults happened between June 2020 and June 2021, court documents say.

He has a preliminary hearing Thursday.

Ramsdell was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl in Lee County on Jan. 4., 2007, when he was 28. He was sentenced to 2 years’ sex offender probation and ordered to undergo treatment and register as a sex offender, court records show.
