Coronavirus cases and hospitalizations are continuing a downward trend in the Sauk Valley.
Whiteside County had 212 cases during the last 7 days, according to the most recent information available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 data tracker Monday. There were 368 cases the week prior.
The positivity rate for the last 7 days decreased to 7.55% from 10.91% and the case rate is 384.23 per 100,000 people. There were nine hospitalizations compared to 11 hospitalizations the week before.
Lee County saw 132 cases compared to 263 cases the previous week and is at a 3.56% positivity rate, down from 5.02%. The case rate is 387.14 per 100,000 people, and there was one new hospitalizations compared to four the previous week.
All counties remain at high risk for transmission.
Ogle County had 161 cases across the week compared to 358 the week before with a positivity rate of 8.72%, down from 11.64%,. The case rate is 317.91 per 100,000 people, and there were two new hospital admissions.
Carroll County reported 58 cases compared to 230 cases the prior week, a positivity rate of 6.77%, down from 12.41%, and a case rate of 405.45 per 100,000 people.
Whiteside County has administered 68,921 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 28,025 people (50.38%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 48,684 doses, with 19,501 people (56.98%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 16,231 vaccine doses, with 6,711 people (45.89%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 70,363 doses, with 28,104 people (55.19%) fully vaccinated.
The North (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties) region’s positivity rate decreased to 7.1%.
Currently, 12% of ICU beds are available.
