A Rock Falls man has been charged in Whiteside County with four counts of possession of child sex abuse material.

Dustin Sawyers, 38, was formally charged with those felony offenses on Wednesday. All charges, which accuse him of possessing videos of sexual acts involving children, are alleged to have occurred on April 15.

He will continue to be detained in the Whiteside County Jail. His next court appearance, a preliminary hearing, is set for May 11.
