Tom Wadsworth of Dixon will premiere his new historical presentation on the rivalry between John Dixon and John Phelps on Saturday, April 4, at the Oregon Coliseum Museum.

The presentation begins at 10 a.m.

These two pioneer leaders often clashed as they battled for the prominence of Dixon and Oregon, the towns they created.

Wadsworth, who holds two master’s degrees and a PhD, brings a national reputation as an engaging speaker, author, and voice-over artist.

Since 2023, he has been a local history columnist for the Dixon Telegraph. In recent years, dozens of audiences throughout northwestern Illinois have praised his local history presentations.
