Polo 51, Forreston 40: Camrynn Jones led the Marcos with 29 points and Leah Tobin scored 12 more in the home win. Hannah Vinnedge led Forreston with 12 points.
Seneca 36, Eastland 35: Olivia Klinefelter led the Cougars with 19 points and 12 rebounds as Eastland fell short at the Seneca Shootout.
Boys basketball
Rock Falls 71, North Boone 29: Kuitim Heald scored 20 points and Ryken Howard added 19 in a dominant win for the Rockets.
Oregon 46, Byron 44: Keaton Salsbury’s late go-ahead 3-pointer helped give the Hawks the big road win in BNC play. Byron had a 3-point look late but it hit off iron and Orego rebounded.
Amboy 43, Stockton 28: Eddie Jones scored a game-high 22 points to help the Clippers to a road win. Bryson Deery chipped in with 10 points for Amboy.
Eastland 75, Ashton-Franklin Center 31: Adam Awender led the Cougars with 21 points, Peyton Spears scored 18 and Parker Krogman had 14 in the road win.
Late Friday
Morrison 61, Ashton-Franklin Center 30: Jayden Wiebenga and Brady Ernst each scored 12 points and Dawson Hepner scored 11 to help the Mustangs pick up the road win.
Boys wrestling
Hawks win two: Oregon beat Sandwich 41-31 and Morrison 60-24 in dual action. Picking up pins for Oregon against Morrison were Preston LaBay, Jackson Messenger, Jayden Berry, Andrew Young, Seth Rote and Landen Elder. Against Sandwich, Young and LaBay won by technical fall, Nelson Benesh, Josiah Perez and Isaiah Perez had pins and Messenger had a major decision.
Morrison’s Levi Milder and Brady Anderson won by pin against Oregon.
Girls bowling
Sterling wins Dixon invite: Sarah Doughty was the individual champion with a 1,317 series as Sterling won the 20-team invite at Plum Hollow with a collective 5,161. Moline (5,119) took second after leading throughout the day. Hailey Conderman also rolled an 1,109 for Sterling to take 10th.
Dixon (5,029) was third and Rock Island (4,972) was fourth. Erie-Prophetstown took 19th with a 3,408.
Addison Cox led Dixon with an 1,108 series and Ysabell Hamm led E-P with a 984.
Girls wrestling
Rock Falls Regional: A number of local wrestlers finished in the top four to advance to the sectional round, including Newman’s Blair Grennan (second) at 105 pounds, Polo’s Zandra Vock (third) at 120, Sterling’s Skyann Munz (second) at 130 and Lillian Tunk (fourth) at 190, and Rock Falls' Ashlyn Fargher (third) at 140, Ryleigh Eriks (4th) at 120 and Akira Schick (first) at 155.
Jacksonville Regional: Erie-Prophetstown took third as Nevada Wells (2nd, 110 pounds), Ryleigh Stephens (3rd, 120), Ayden Grawe (4th, 125), Michelle Naftzger (2nd, 130), Dena Cox (4th, 145) and Jayda Rosenow (2nd, 155) all qualified for the sectional round.
