Letter: Lesperance brings work ethic, accountability to Nunda Twp. Road District

keyboard

To the Editor:

I would like to share my experience of working with Mr. Mike Lesperance, Nunda Township highway commissioner. In my previous position at the Illinois Department of Transportation, I had the responsibility of administration of motor fuel tax and federally funded projects in municipalities and road districts in both Kane and McHenry counties.

Mike, coming from the private sector as a contractor before becoming the highway commissioner for Nunda Township Road District, has brought the work ethic, accountability and high-quality performance to the district that is mainly attributed to his experience and work background.

He is always mindful of how best to spend the taxpayers’ money on projects that benefit the residents. He has implemented a paving program that is done by the district employees, hence eliminating the need for private contractors, which results in further savings for the taxpayers.

He has completed many drainage improvements with the district employees, improving quality of life for the residents. He is always looking for ways to complete the tasks in the most economical way, which contributes to overall lower taxes.

He is a hands-on highway commissioner and not afraid to jump in and work side by side with his employees. The workmanship and quality of the finished paved roads is very high. This is all because of his leadership, hard work, honesty and integrity.

I appreciate the exemplary performance of Mike Lesperance as the Nunda Township highway commissioner.
