Three people were taken to the hospital Wednesday night after a crash on Route 23 in Marengo.
The people involved in the accident had serious injuries, Marengo Fire Protection District Chief John Kimmel said.
Fire crews were called out about 4:55 p.m. to West Coral and Pleasant Grove roads.
When crews got there, Kimmel said, they saw two vehicles with heavy damage. A total of three people were involved, all of whom had to be extricated from their cars. Two of them were flown to the hospital, while the other was taken by ambulance, Kimmel said.
McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the fire protection district are investigating the crash.
