Traffic incident shuts down Spring Grove Road near Johnsburg early Sunday

Spring Grove Road near Johnsburg was shut down following a traffic incident early Sunday morning, according to a Nixle alert sent to residents.

At 4:25 a.m. Sunday, residents received a Nixle alert advising the Johnsburg Police Department was asking residents to avoid Spring Grove Road between Grouse Trail and Hiller Ridge Road. The area is north of the intersection of Spring Grove Road and West Ringwood Road.

The incident was described as a “traffic issue with wires down” and drivers would be required to take a detour for several hours. The alert was updated by late Sunday morning to reflect the incident had expired.

The Johnsburg Police Department was not immediately available for more information.
