Huntley High School student selected for 2022 all-state musical production

Lily Landoch, a senior at Huntley High School has been selected to participate on the technical crew for the 2022 Illinois High School Theatre Festival’s all-state production of “Cabaret.”

Produced by the Illinois Theatre Association, the Illinois High School Theatre Festival is the largest and oldest noncompetitive high school theatre festival in the nation, according to a Huntley School District 158 news release.

Each January, more than 4,000 students, teachers, university representatives, exhibitors and volunteers come together for the three-day festival that includes workshops on topics that include acting, auditions, improvisation, stage management, costumes and special effects, as well as professional development opportunities for teachers and directors.

The performance of “Cabaret” will feature a select ensemble of 78 of the top high school student cast, crew and musicians from across Illinois, according to a news release.

Over a series of weekends during the first semester of the school year, Landoch will assist with construction of the set and take part in full-cast rehearsals with final rehearsals occurring in the week leading up to the festival performances.

Landoch has been a member of Huntley High School’s Technical Theater Club and has participated as a crew member for several theater performances and events.
