Arizona man pleads guilty to sexually abusing minor in Richmond

Mark Fields, 24, and an adult woman drove to Illinois to meet a juvenile whom Fields sexually abused, officials say

A 24-year-old Arizona man pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexually abusing a girl with whom he was in an online relationship.

Mark Fields, of Tuscon, entered a blind guilty plea Tuesday to a single county of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to dismiss additional charges including indecent solicitation, solicitation to meet a child and traveling to meet a minor.

Because Fields entered a blind plea, a sentence had not yet been determined.

In June 2020, Fields and another woman, Rhiannon Kennedy, traveled from Arizona to Richmond to meet the girl, court records show. Fields and Kennedy then took the girl to a motel and sexually abused her, according to court documents.

Kennedy is wanted on an arrest warrant issued May 20.

Fields remained at the McHenry County Jail Tuesday awaiting a July 22 sentencing hearing.
