Lippold Family Golf Center to open mini golf, driving range for spring season

The Lippold Family Golf Center in Crystal Lake will open April 9 for its spring season.

The Crystal Lake Park District facility, located at 1251 W. Route 176, includes 40 lighted tee areas, a putting green, sand traps, a pitching green, a fairway practice bunker, two 18-hole miniature golf courses, a clubhouse, a party room and concessions.

From April 9 to May 27, the center will be open 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

With a high volume of peat in the ground in the driving range area, the area takes longer than normal to dry out if there is rain. It is recommended that customers call 815-477-5401 prior to their visit to confirm if the driving range is open or sign up for text alerts via rainoutline.com.

The summer hours will start May 28 and run to Aug. 14. They will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; noon to 9 p.m. Tuesdays; and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

From Aug. 15 to Sept. 25, the center will be open only on the weekends. The operating hours will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
