High school sports roundup for Saturday, Nov. 27

Hampshire took an early lead and never looked back in a 71-45 win over Proviso West in the Hoffman Estates Tournament on Saturday.

Freshman Chloe Van Horn led the way for the Whip-Purs with 23 points. Kaitlyn Milison added 13.

Crystal Lake Central 47, Grayslake Central 35: At Buffalo Grove, Katie Hamill led the Tigers with 19 points in a Bison Classic win.

Paige Keller added 14 points in the victory and was named to the all-tournament team.

Stillman Valley 53, Johnsburg 40: At Johnsburg, the Skyhawks came up short at home. Macy Madsen scored 17 points and Molly Wetzel added 15.

Rockford Lutheran 75, Harvard 16: At Rockford, the Hornets were no match for Lutheran on the road.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Marengo 79, Illinois Valley Central 69: At Ottawa, Marengo rode another strong performance from Matthew Volkening at the Ottawa Thanksgiving Tournament.

Volkening scored 22 points in the win/ Brock Adamson added 18, Exzavier Meyer had 15 and Joshua Holst chipped in 11.

Dundee-Crown 56, Burlington Central 54: At Sycamore, the Chargers snagged an overtime win over the Rockets to take the Strombom Classic championship crown.

BOWLING

Harlem Invite: At Forest Hill Lanes in Loves Park, Woodstock finished 15th with 5,199 pins.

Jacob Piquette led the Blue Streaks with an average of 181.5, followed by Zach Cynowa (180.6) Williams Reese (178.4).
