Crystal Lake South volleyball team sweeps Harvard in Boylan Regional semifinal

Crystal Lake South earned its 30th win of the season and advanced to the championship match of the Class 3A Boylan Regional with a 25-11, 25-11 victory over Harvard on Tuesday in Rockford.

Jessie Proszenyak led the way with seven kills and six digs for the Gators (30-5), Megan Langdon added five kills, and Emma Stowasser dished out 11 assists.

South will face Woodstock North for the regional title at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Woodstock North 2, Rockford Boylan 1: At Rockford, the Thunder rallied for a 23-25, 25-18, 25-20 win in their Class 3A Boylan Regional semifinal.

Kylie Schulze had 23 assists, 11 digs, three aces, three blocks and two kills for North (26-8), Avary Crabill had eight kills, nine digs, three aces and five blocks, and Katie Wickersheim had 14 digs and an ace.

Also for the Thunder, Alyssa Wickersheim had seven kills and 13 digs, Kamryn Butenschoen had four kills and five blocks, Cadence Klasek had three kills and three blocks, and Faith Eddy had five kills.

Genoa-Kingston 2, Marian Central 0: At Genoa, the host of the Class 2A Genoa-Kingston Regional knocked off the Hurricanes, 25-13, 26-24, in the semifinals.

Kate Rodden had four kills and seven digs, Grace Adams had six assists and five digs, and Jessa Passi had 10 digs in the season-ending loss.

Huntley 2, Dundee-Crown 0: At Huntley, the Red Raiders earned a spot in the Class 4A Huntley Regional title match with a 25-14, 25-21 victory over the Chargers.

McHenry 2, Grant 1: At Huntley, the Warriors bounced back from an opening-set loss to take down Grant, 23-25, 25-18, 25-15, in the Class 4A Huntley Regional.

Ella Boland led the way with 15 kills for McHenry, and Aspen O’Brien added 27 assists.

St. Charles East 2, Hampshire 0: At St. Charles, the Whip-Purs were swept by the hosts of the Class 4A St. Charles East Regional in the semifinal round.

Jacobs 2, Auburn 0: At Streamwood, the Golden Eagles will play for a regional title after a 25-11, 25-12 Class 4A Streamwood Regional semifinal victory.

Belvidere North 2, Woodstock 0: At Belvidere, the Blue Streaks suffered a 25-12, 25-16 loss in the Class 3A Belvidere North Regional semis to end their season.

Prairie Ridge 2, Crystal Lake Central 1: At Belvidere, the Wolves ended the Tigers’ season with a 25-23, 23-25, 25-13 victory in the Class 3A Belvidere North Regional semifinals.

McKenna Timmerman had 22 kills and 18 digs for Central.

Ansley Morlock had 13 kills and 15 digs for Prairie Ridge.

Burlington Central 2, Rochelle 0: At Burlington, the Rockets earned a shot at a Class 3A regional title with a 25-10, 25-18 win over Rochelle.

Aurora Central Catholic 2, Marengo 0: At Marengo, the home team had its season end with a 25-18, 25-15 loss in the semis of the Class 2A Marengo Regional.

Richmond-Burton 2, Rosary 1: At Marengo, the Rockets played their way into the Class 2A Marengo Regional final against Aurora Central Catholic with a 25-23, 21-25, 25-23 win.

Maggie Uhwat had nine kills and nine blocks in the victory, Alex Hopp had 20 assists, and Elissa Furlan added 12 digs and four kills.
