Richmond-Burton shuts out Marengo; Ethan Demers scores 2 goals

Richmond-Burton kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 road win over Marengo on Wednesday, thanks in large part to a pair of goals from Ethan Demers.

Maddox Meyer and Sean Rockwell also scored one goal each for R-B, and Logan Knott made three saves in the shutout.

Woodstock 1, Harvard 0: At Rockford Sportscore Two, the Blue Streaks were able to come away with a win in PKs after a scoreless draw through all of regulation.

Niles Notre Dame 3, Marian Central 1: At Woodstock, the Hurricanes hung in there through the first half and held Notre Dame to a 1-1 tie, but two late goals from the Dons ultimately did them in.

Christ Ghita scored Marian Central’s goal on an assist from Alex Trojanowski, and Dawson Yegge made nine saves.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Woodstock North 2, Harvard 0: At Harvard, the Thunder rolled past the Hornets in a 25-20, 25-6 win on the road.

Faith Eddy had nine kills as Woodstock North improved to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in Kishwaukee River Conference play, while Kaitlyn Wickersheim added 18 digs, and Kylie Schulze had 14 assists and seven digs.

Alex Cooke had six digs and two assists for Harvard (0-7, 0-6 KRC).

Marengo 2, Johnsburg 1: At Marengo, the home team came away victorious in a back-and-forth battle with the Skyhawks.

Alexis Kunde had six kills, seven digs and four aces for Marengo in the 25-22, 22-25, 25-20 win, while Jenna Turner added 21 digs, and Lilly Johnson had 18 assists and eight digs.

Emmie Wizceb had eight kills for Johnsburg, Delaney Stern had 12 assists, and Maddie Huhn made 11 digs.
