Another 313 McHenry County residents are now fully vaccinated, bringing the total number to 147,452, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported Friday.

Meanwhile, the McHenry County Department of Health reported four more cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total numbers of cases among residents to 29,234.

McHenry County’s total number of cases include 292 confirmed deaths and 30 deaths in which the cause likely was COVID-19 but could not be confirmed.

The county’s recovery rate remains at 99%.

As of Friday, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported a total of 12,648,167 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered statewide, including 304,206 in McHenry County.

So far, 47.79% of the county’s 308,570 residents have been fully vaccinated, meaning they’ve received all of the doses recommended for the vaccine they received.

The state moved to Phase 5 on June 11, which means state capacity restrictions tied to COVID-19 were lifted. The state continues to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, meaning those fully vaccinated can go without masks in most cases.

Statewide, 69.4% of those 12 and older have received at least one vaccine dose, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported Friday. That rate is 71.8% for those 18 and older and 89.9% for those 65 and older.

Total hospitalizations and new admissions tied to COVID-19 continue to be on the decline, and the state reported a decreasing trend line in the number of deaths related to COVID-19. The trend line for number of new daily cases is now longer on the decline but instead categorized as “no significant change.”

McHenry County’s positivity rate remained at 0.8% for the third day Friday based on a seven-day rolling average, and Region 9, which is comprised of Lake and McHenry counties, decreased to 0.8%.

Region 9 had 29% of its intensive care unit beds available as of Friday, the fifth day in a row that metric had fallen, and the state reported COVID-19-related hospital admissions decreased or were stable eight out of the past 10 days.

Statewide, the IDPH reported 1,392,552 cases, 23,245 confirmed deaths and 2,451 probable deaths. Neighboring Lake County’s health department reported 61,969 cases and 1,023 deaths through Thursday, while to the south, the Kane County Health Department reported 59,467 cases and 811 deaths on Friday.

Among McHenry County ZIP codes, Crystal Lake (60014) has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with a total of 4,471 confirmed cases, according to county data. Woodstock (60098) follows with 3,438 cases.

The McHenry County health department reports ZIP code data only for parts within McHenry County, a department spokeswoman said. Any discrepancies between county and IDPH numbers likely are because of the data’s provisional nature and because each health department finalizes its data at different times, she said.
