Why do people tailgate? I go the speed limit or a bit over, but the person behind me is so close I can’t see their headlights. Why should I pull over just to let them get ahead? I like to leave a breaking distance between me and the car in front, in case an animal runs across the road, or the car in front has problems and stalls.
