Mendota police seek suspect in reported armed robbery at Clark gas station

Mendota police are seeking a suspect who had entered the Clark gas station Thursday night on the 700 block of 13th Avenue armed with a handgun and demanding money.

Police described the subject as short, heavy set stature. The suspect was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with the word “Illinois " on the front, dark-colored sweat pants, white shoes and the subject’s face was covered with a dark-colored mask and the subject’s hands were covered with dark-colored gloves. A photograph of the subject was released on the Mendota Police Department Facebook page and a video will be released when available.

The business was closed Thursday night and the area sealed off while officers investigate the incident.
