The boys individual wrestling season comes to a close with titles bouts Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at State Farm Center in Champaign.

While Yorkville Christian dominated the Kaneland Class 2A Individual Wrestling Regional Saturday to win its fourth in a row team title, the other tournament schools will be well represented at next week’s Washington Class 2A Sectional.

Teams from Marquette, Mendota, Princeton, Sandwich and Amboy all competed during the Class 1A Regional meet on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at St. Bede Academy. This is the first time St. Bede has hosted a wrestling regional event.

Princeton sent five wrestlers to the semifinals to claim fifth place in the Lyle King Princeton Invitational with Ace Christiansen second, Cade Odell and Kane Dauber third, Casey Etheridge fourth and Augustus Swanson sixth.

Illinois’ wrestling fans will once again descend to the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign campus this weekend to watch the state’s best boys wrestlers compete in the IHSA individual state tournament. Here’s everything fans need to know about the championships.

At 106 pounds, Dixon's Jack Ragan, Streator's Nicholas Pollett and Morris' Owen Sater all earned state trips on Saturday at the 2A Sycamore Sectional.

Dixon placed second and had eight wrestlers advance out of the Class 2A Rock Island Regional. Sterling, Streator and Ottawa also had wrestlers advance.
