A utility pole at Christie and Glover streets in Ottawa had a hole burned through it, according to the Ottawa Fire Department.
Ottawa firefighters responded at 2:51 a.m. Thursday to a report of a utility pole on fire, finding the hole and the pole still smoldering. No power lines were downed as a result.
Ottawa firefighters called Ameren to the scene and remained in the area until 4:28 a.m., when the utility crews deemed the area safe.
