Unincorporated La Salle County residents can qualify for flood insurance savings

County participates in a voluntary rating system

Homeowners with flood insurance in unincorporated La Salle County can save about 10% on their flood insurance policy annually, because the county participates in FEMA’s Community Rating System.

The rating system is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management practices that exceed the minimum requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program.

La Salle County has a rating of class 8 — leading to an approximate 10% savings.
