Marseilles hosts fall festival Saturday at Knudson Park

‘Hocus Pocus,’ hayrides among the activities

Marseilles will be in full fall spirit come Saturday, Oct. 16.

The city is hosting its fall festival beginning at noon with activities mostly taking place at Knudson Park.

Apple cider doughnuts, pretzels, hot apple cider, pulled pork sandwiches, chips/coleslaw and hot dogs will be among some of the food offerings.

Tom Edwards will kick off the events at noon with live music and a viewing of the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus” and hayrides will cap off the day full of activities.

Children will be able to play in the inflatable activity area, see a reptile show, and take train rides starting at 12:30 p.m. and games like Plinko, Connect Four and others will be available throughout the day.

Performers through the day include Magic Mark at 2 p.m. and Boomin DJ running from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Craft vendors will be present as the event is set rain or shine.

Sponsors include Nucor, Mike Etscheid, Lions Club, the Marseilles Police Department, the Marseilles and Streator Masons and Aperion Care.

Noon to 2 p.m.: Tom Edwards

12:30 to 5 p.m.: Inflatable activity area

12:30 to 2 p.m.: Reptile show

12:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Train rides

1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Bozo buckets and sand dig

2 to 6 p.m.: Boomin’ DJ

2 to 4 p.m.: Magic Mark

3 to 5 p.m.: Candy bar bingo

3 p.m.: Cake walk ($1)

3:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Antique fire truck rides

4 p.m.: Book reading by Jan Ambrose near the bandshell

4 p.m.: Adult beverage walk ($2)

5 p.m.: Scavenger hunt, for teens and adults, begins at City Hall, 209 Lincoln St.

6 p.m.: “Hocus Pocus” at Knudson Park

6 to 8 p.m.: Hayrides ($3)
