New sweet shop plans to open in downtown Streator

Business will open at restored 409 E. Main St. building

Anyone in the Streatorland area with a sweet tooth should take notice.

A sweet shop with fudge, candies, popcorn, sodas, among other items, called Squeakers Sweet Shop, announced it will open soon at 409 E. Main St., Suite 3, in downtown Streator.

The 409 E. Main St. location is a restored building that houses Primrose Boutique as the storefront; Attituudz on Main, which is a hair salon; Healthcheck; and Zavada Construction.

The sweet shop will go in the former location of the Wise Old Owl Bookstore, which closed at the end of April.
