Veterans can learn about VA benefits at Ottawa event

Hines Community Outreach Team will take questions, consult veterans

The Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital’s Community Outreach Team will enroll veterans and answer questions about veterans administration health care and benefits 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the American Legion Post 33, 901 La Salle St., Ottawa.

All area veterans are welcome to attend and meet with a Hines enrollment coordinator.

“This is a great opportunity for Ottawa veterans to learn more about the benefits and resources offered through VA,” said Patrick Grimes, Hines VA’s outreach coordinator leading Wednesday’s event. “As a Navy veteran, I know it may be hard for some to navigate all the available resources, but that’s why we are coming to Ottawa. Hines wants to help our fellow veterans access the resources and care they earned through their service.”
