A Harold’s Chicken is scheduled to open Thursday, May 13, in Streator.
The restaurant is opening at 1403 N. Bloomington St., the location of the former SuperAmerica and Speedway.
Operator Scott White said Harold’s is a long-time Chicago staple, and he’s excited to bring the 70-year-old recipe to a city he said has been missing out on this good fried chicken.
“We’re primarily known for our mild sauce, but we’re also known for always being fresh,” White said. “That’s something not everyone knows. Everything is always cooked after you order. Your food will never just be sitting under a lamp waiting for you.”
White said Harold’s also serves fish and shrimp.
Anointed Hands Auto Spa will remain on the building’s north side.
