Zach Swart spoke Wednesday to the Marseilles City Council to discuss his Eagle Scout project, which will place a new sign for Eagle Park next to hole No. 1 at the disc golf course.
Swart’s plan is to place the 6 feet-by-4 feet vinyl sign near the bottom of the hill where it will be held up by two 4-by-4 steel poles and attached by angle bars.
“It’ll be low maintenance,” the 17-year-old Swart said. “The only thing you really have to worry about is the brick facade about 10-15 years down the road when it starts to get old.”
Commissioner Nate Schaeffer said the brick will probably last longer than Swart expects.
Swart said he has to go around to companies to see about getting donations but the plan needed to be approved by the City Council before he went much further.
