Ottawa woman arrested on child pornography charges

Case originated in December with previous arrest

A 29-year-old Ottawa woman turned herself in to police Thursday after she was charged with disseminating child pornography in a case that originated in December.

Shahnaz M. Baugher (also with a Harvard, Ill. address) is being held in La Salle County Jail, with a bond set at $300,000. She is charged with three counts of dissemination of child pornography, which are class X felonies carrying a mandatory 6 to 30 year prison sentence.

In December, the Ottawa Police Department Investigations Division began an investigation into a person in reported to have possession of child pornography, based on a Cybertip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Shain M. Sennott, 38, of Ottawa, was subsequently arrested for two counts of possession of child pornography charges. After a search warrant was executed on his residence in Ottawa, Sennott was charged with three additional counts of dissemination of child pornography and his bond was increased to $500,000.

This investigation was assisted by the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Unit, the La Salle County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office High Tech Crimes Bureau, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

This case remains an active investigation with the Ottawa Police Department and Attorney General’s Office ICAC Task Force, said Ottawa Police Det. Corp. Kevin Reynolds.
