An Ottawa man pleaded guilty earlier this month to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to six years in prison.
Johnathon P. Ollry, 38, was arrested after an Ottawa police investigation that began Aug. 31 into possession of child pornography on a cellphone and he was formally charged Oct. 14 with three counts of possession of child pornography. Ollry also was charged on a complaint of domestic battery in summer of 2020.
After entering a negotiated plea, two of the child pornography charges were dropped.
On Sept. 1, Ottawa police detectives obtained a search warrant to a hotel room within the city limits of Ottawa. With this room, detectives found a cellphone. The Office of the Illinois Attorney General’s High Tech Crimes Bureau was contacted and the telephone was forensically analyzed and found to contain purported child pornography, police said.
Ollry served 106 days in the La Salle County Jail, before transferring to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
