A 39-year-old Ottawa man was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into the possession of child pornography and is being held at La Salle County Jail on $75,000 bond.
Shain M. Sennott, of 834 E. Michigan St., was developed as a suspect after the Ottawa Police Department received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Sennott was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, both felonies, carrying a possible sentencing range of 3 to 7 years if found guilty.
Sennott was arrested at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday in the area of East Michigan and Champlain streets. Ottawa police, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office High Tech Crimes Bureau, the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office and the La Salle County State’s Attorney’s Office executed a search warrant at 834 E. Michigan St. in relation to the investigatin.
The matter still is under investigation and additional charges are possible, said Ottawa Police Detective Sgt. Kyle Booras.
