Neighborhood surveillance video helped Ottawa police arrest a suspect in a residential burglary case.
Dylan E. Combs, 18, of Ottawa, is charged with residential burglary, a class 1 felony, which carries a sentencing range of 4 to 15 years if he is found guilty.
Ottawa police responded 12:42 p.m. Nov. 10 to an address in the 900 block of Christie Street for a resident who believed someone had made entry into their home. Ottawa police didn’t find a perpetrator when they arrived at the residence.
After collecting evidence and using surveillance video from other residences in the neighborhood, Combs was developed as a suspect and a warrant issued for his arrest, Ottawa police said.
Combs was arrested during a traffic stop Nov. 18 in the 500 block of State Street in Ottawa. He is being held at the La Salle County Jail on a $100,000 bond — needing 10% for release.
