La Salle County coronavirus update: Two new cases reported, 36% of population fully vaccinated

The number of new COVID-19 cases in La Salle County remains low with two new cases announced — two males in their 20s — announced Saturday by the La Salle County Health Department.

There have been 12,855 cases of COVID-19 in the county since the pandemic began with 12,235 recoveries.

Of the 704 residents tested on June 2, the latest data available by the Illinois Department of Public Health, six were positive for a daily positivity rate of 0.9 percent. The rolling seven-day average from May 27 to June 2 was 0.9 percent.

There have been 85,623 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in the county with 39,390 residents — 36 percent — being fully vaccinated.

As of June 4, the seven-day average for doses administered in the county is 276.
