Event may return in the fall

A bean cook off planned for March 26 in Marseilles was canceled because of a lack of interest, organizers said. (Shaw Local News Network)

A bean cook off planned for March 26 in Marseilles was canceled because of a lack of interest, organizers said.

The Social Gatherings Committee of St. Joseph Church had planned the event with cash prizes and public voting.

Organizers said they will consider hosting it in the fall with more time to promote it.
