Hinsdale Central claimed its fourth consecutive state title - and 29th overall - while Marmion's Benedict Graft placed second in 1A singles for the third year in a row.

York's tennis team won its second consecutive sectional title but only after a third tiebreaker with Glenbard East was needed at the Class 2A Willowbrook Sectional.

Wheaton North won its sixth straight DuKane Conference tennis championship on Saturday.

Reigning Class 2A state champion Hinsdale Central, under first-year coach Pete Alex (a Hinsdale South graduate), deployed a wealth of talent over the weekend, amassing 64 points to capture the team championship of the Hersey Invite.

Hinsdale Central senior and Xavier recruit Alex Kotarski took second in Class 2A singles for the second straight year, and the Red Devils as a team won their third straight state tennis title and 28th in program history.

York's Anthony Arnieri, an All-State doubles player last year, took the singles sectional championship Saturday and Brennen Maxeiner and Nate Yu won the doubles crown, leading the Dukes to the Class 2A Willowbrook Sectional championship.

Lemont's Rehan Saraiya and Sean Svoboda have been dominant at No. 1 doubles this season and own a 9-0 record after a perfect run through the top doubles bracket at Saturday's Joliet Steelman Invite.

Lemont claimed the top team honors at the 2024 Steelmen Invitational hosted by Joliet Township and Joliet Catholic.

Downers Grove South's Sam Plys took the title at No. 1 singles at the Glenbard West Invite on Saturday, while the host Hilltoppers finished second in the team standings.
