H-BR, Serena win semifinals at Class 1A Marquette Regional

The Hinckley-Big Rock Royals and the Serena Huskers boys basketball teams defeated the Marquette Crusaders and Newark Norsemen, respectively, in Wednesday's Class 1A Marquette Regional semifinals at Bader Gym. H-BR and Serena will meet at 7 p.m. on Friday in the title game.

Sterling rolls past Morris to reach Class 3A regional championship game

Sterling's Kaedon Phillips scored 30 points and the Warriors fought off a spirited Morris team to secure a 68-49 win in the Class 3A Morris Regional semifinals on Wednesday night.

Marquette rolls past Dwight 63-33 in 1A regional opener

The Marquette boys basketball scored the opening nine points of Monday's Class 1A regional quarterfinal against Dwight, led by 20 three minutes into the second quarter and eventually recorded a 66-33 victory at Bader Gymnasium.

Marquette earns 57-51 TCC win in overtime over Seneca

The Marquette boys basketball team, led by 36 points from Alec Novotney, topped Seneca 57-51 in overtime to finish out the Tri-County Conference and regular seasons at Bader Gymnasium on Friday night.
