The City of Morris is hosting an electronics recycling event with First American Recycling on March 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1000 Armstrong St. in Morris.
The fee is $25 for older televisions and monitors. Cash only.
The facility accepts computers, phones, televisions, monitors, printers, and game systems. Large appliances like refrigerators, stoves, and washers are not accepted.
“This event is an excellent opportunity for our community to take part in responsible recycling, helping protect our environment and reduce the harmful impacts of electronic waste,” said Mayor Chris Brown in a news release. “We encourage all residents to clean out their garages, basements, and storage spaces, and bring any unwanted electronics to be safely recycled.”
Electronic waste often contains hazardous materials like lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can contaminate the environment if not disposed of properly. By attending this event, residents will be contributing to reducing pollution and conserving valuable resources through responsible recycling. If residents have questions, they can call First America at 815-941-9888. Additional electronic recycling events will be held on July 17, 2026, and October 16, 2026.
