Drive-thru Christmas display lights up fairgrounds

Show to take place on select days through Jan. 2

GRAYSLAKE – Santa’s Rock N Lights Drive-Through Winter Light Show began Nov. 19 at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

More than 100,000 people are expected to visit the show, which includes hundreds of thousands of animated lights.

Tickets must be purchased online at Santasrocknlights.com.

The route is over 1 mile long and will take 20 to 30 minutes depending on driving speed. Highlights include new larger-than-life 3D polar bears, new giant emojis, more than 700 feet of tunnels, guitar-playing Santas and giant 3D dinosaurs.

The show will be open select days through Jan. 2. Many days are expected to sell out.

Organizers believe this is the safest holiday event because attendees enjoy the show from the warmth and safety of their car.
