WAUKEGAN -- The Lake County Health Department is announcing the closure of the Regional Vaccination Site at 102 W. Water St. in Waukegan on Oct 11. The final day to receive vaccinations will be Oct 10. The Illinois Department of Public Health will continue to operate its community-based COVID-19 testing at this location.
“Thanks to our partners, volunteers, and our Waukegan community we vaccinated over 8,805 people at the Water Street Vaccination Site,” said Mark Pfister, executive director of the Lake County Health Department. “I am confident that we have a strong infrastructure in place between our department, pharmacies, healthcare providers, and community partners to continue vaccinating individuals across Lake County.”
COVID-19 vaccine appointments for first and second doses through the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center continue to be available at select locations. The brand of vaccine offered may vary depending on availability. Locations and hours are as follows:
* Grand Avenue Health Center: 3010 Grand Avenue, Waukegan. Walk-ins and appointments available. Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday – 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Thursday – 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
* Midlakes Health Center: 224 Clarendon Road, Round Lake Beach. Walk-ins and appointments available. Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 9 to 11:30 a.m.; 1:15 to 3:30 p.m.
