LAKE VILLA -- A 3-year-old Lake Villa toddler apparently died as a result of drowning in a pool, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Around 8:50 p.m. July 24, the Lake Villa Police Department and Lake Villa Fire Department were called to the 100 block of Balsam Avenue for a report of a possible drowning, a news release stated.
A child, identified as 3-year-old Zayden Zavodny of Lake Villa, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead in an emergency room, according to the release.
An autopsy by the Lake County Coroner’s Office on July 26 found results that were consistent with death by drowning.
The investigation into the toddler’s death is ongoing by the Lake County Coroner’s Office, as well as the Lake Villa Police Department.
