Letter: Don’t be fooled

keyboard, letter to the editor

To the Editor:

Don’t be fooled by Pam Parr’s email campaign. I recently read an email titled “Pam Parr loves a good old Tax Revolt!” She is partly correct. The title should read “Pam Parr loves a good old tax!”

Pam Parr and Luis Perez have voted to increase taxes on gas, prepared food and beverage, and general sales tax. If that wasn’t enough, they nearly doubled the water rates. Pam even proposed a 10-cent tax on plastic grocery bags. They have also opposed the water rate reduction and property tax cuts passed by the new trustees and village president.

The email also alludes to Parr voting to sell village properties and talks about the Alexander Lumber property. She voted to buy that property for nearly $1.5 million of taxpayer dollars and give it to the development, not sell it. The other achievements she touts in the email were accomplished by the new Village Board members.

Sorry Pam, I’m not fooled. I will be voting for the Oswego Village Trustee candidate team of Jennifer Jones Sinnott, Kit Kuhrt and Tom Guist for fiscal responsibility and continued smart growth.
