Yorkvlle police seek suspect in late Sunday night armed robbery

Yorkville police are seeking a suspect in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store at 9:12 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7, in the 1500 block of Sycamore Road at Veterans Parkway (Route 34).

In a statement, police described the suspect as a male Black, approximately five feet, 10 inches tall and approximately 230 pounds. The suspect was wearing a blue Nike sweatshirt, black sweat pants, a mask, gloves and black and white shoes.

Police said the suspect displayed a handgun and took cash and a bottle of alcohol from the store.

The victim in the incident was not hurt, according to police.

Personnel from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Aurora Police Department and Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District assisted Yorkville police at the robbery scene.
