Elburn Days, the largest fundraiser of the year for the local Lions Club, kicked off Friday, Aug. 15 and ran through Sunday, Aug. 17. The history of the festival dates to 1933 and began as A Day in the Park. Now it includes carnival rides, live entertainment on multiple stages, a beer garden and more.

Upgrades at Elburn's Prairie Park, paid in part by a state grant, included the replacement of outdated playground equipment, greater accessibility, the addition of a rain garden and fitness stations, the extension of a path and fishing pond improvements. The work was completed in time for Elburn Days and the Run the Rails.
