St. Charles School District employees set to receive appreciation bonuses

St. Charles School Board District 303

The St. Charles School Board plans to honor staff members for their efforts and dedication to students and families with an employee appreciation payment.

The School Board is set to vote on the payment during its regular meeting Monday. Approval of the action item will result in the payment to employees who began in the district prior to Oct. 2, and who continue to work for the district on Dec. 15, except for those who were on non-FMLA leaves on Oct. 1, according to a news release from the St. Charles School District.

Payments range from $300 to $1,200 depending on the number of hours employees work during a regular week and are being paid from the dstrict’s fund balance, the release stated.

“At the beginning of the pandemic, no one could have foreseen the ongoing demands expected of our staff members,” School Board President Jillian Barker said in the release. “We are grateful that the professionals who work in our district continue to dedicate their careers to support our students and their families. This appreciation payment is a way for the School Board to truly show how much we value our staff.”

Employees will receive the payment as part of the Dec. 15 payroll, the release stated.
