Seneca 2, Sandwich 0: At the Class 2A Mendota Regional, the No. 5-seeded Fighting Irish (24-10) advanced with a 25-21, 25-13 victory over the No. 11-seeded Indians (7-26) in Monday’s quarterfinals.

Seneca, which was led by 16 kills from Faith Baker, will take on No. 4-seeded Eureka at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals.

Sandwich was paced by Londyn Scott (three blocks, four kills), Jessica Ramey (six assists, three points, a kill), Brooklyn Marks (nine digs, three points), Lexie Randa (three kills, four points, five digs) and Jordan Bauer (three kills).

Somonauk 2, Yorkville Christian 0: At the Class 1A Earlville Regional, the No. 8-seeded Bobcats advanced with a 25-19, 25-22 quarterfinal victory over the No. 10-seeded Mustangs.

Somonauk will face top-seeded Newark in the semifinals at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ridgeview 2, Flanagan-Cornell 1: At the Class 1A Lexington Regional, the No. 9-seeded Falcons (6-24) fell to the No. 8-seeded Mustangs 19-25, 27-25, 25-20 in the quarterfinals to end their season.
