Batavia saw 12 of its 13 wrestlers advance to the upcoming sectional and won the title at the Class 2A Morris Regional on Saturday.

Sandwich placed second, Marquette took third and host Princeton had four individual champions in the Class 1A Princeton Regional, while St. Bede, Mendota and Putnam County-Hall also sent wrestlers on to sectional.

A quick start and a pin by Sawyer Davis helped Sycamore pick up the Interstate 8 Conference title with wins over Morris and Seneca.

Jack Forth was among the seniors Sandwich celebrated during its final dual meet of the season, a 55-19 Senior Night victory over Plano.

The Lisle wrestling team came out victorious in eight of Wednesday's nine contested varsity matches at Streator, six of those victories coming via first-period pinfall in a 62-12 Lions triumph at Pops Dale Gymnasium.

Newman wrestling beat Princeton 48-27 on senior night to clinch the outright Three Rivers Conference title Tuesday night.

The Bradley-Bourbonnais boys wrestling team topped Marquette 41-22 at Bader Gym on Wednesday night, while Crusaders junior Reilly Leifheit recorded his 100th career victory.

Princeton senior Augustus Swanson won the 113-pound bracket and teammate Casey Etheridge took second at 165 in the Tigers own Lyle King Invitational.

The Ottawa boys wrestling team topped La Salle-Peru 45-33, while the Cavaliers girls squad defeated the host Pirates 36-31 at Kingman Gym on Thursday night.
