Mendota has a new police officer. Sabrina Poole, a current Mendota resident and graduate of La Salle-Peru Township High School, was sworn in at Monday’s city council meeting. She begins Sept. 2.

Chief Jason Martin said Poole’s hire makes the department fully staffed.
