Small airplane lands on Interstate 80 near Marseilles

A small airplane made a landing on Interstate 80 near Marseilles on Monday evening.

The aircraft, a Diamond DA-40, which is a single-engine plane, made the emergency landing on the westbound lane between the right lane and shoulder, according to the Illinois State Police.

The pilot was uninjured. The Marseilles Fire Department was called to the interstate to help clean up spilled fuel.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the landing.
