Crews with Vissering Construction build a 14,000 square foot addition to the west side of Northwest School on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, in La Salle. The addition will hold eight new classrooms including early childhood and kindergarten. The district was awarded $3.2 million State of Illinois as part of the Early Childhood Construction Grant program. Vissering Construction and BCA Architects in Ottawa are the contractors working at the site. The new addition is scheduled to be completed for the 2024-2025 school year. (Scott Anderson)
