Turkey vultures fly and roost on the La Salle water tower located near 9th and Bucklin Streets in La Salle on Thursday Oct. 14, 2021. The birds are no stranger to the water tower as they are there nearly year-round. Turkey vultures sometimes called turkey buzzard, that feeds almost entirely on dead animals. The birds are relatively large with a wing span of 63-72 inches. They tend to roost in large community groups. The birds have been gathering at the water tower for about several years now.
