Senior Night for Bureau Valley, Princeton

The curtain will draw on the 2021 high school football season tonight in Bureau County.

It will mark Senior Night for Bureau Valley and Princeton, who will recognize their senior players.

The Storm will host the Hall Red Devils with the BV seniors making their final appearance in the Storm’s Columbia Blue and Navy.

BV coach Mat Pistole, an old Storm quarterback, preaches to “leave the place better than when you found it,” and said his seniors have done just that.

The Tigers will host Monmouth-Roseville in a Three Rivers crossover, matching a pair of second-place teams in their respective divisions. It won’t be the last home game for the PHS seniors if the Tigers win and boost their playoff seeding for a first-round game at Bryant Field.

On Thursday, St. Bede beat Mendota 33-15 to improve to 7-2.

Here’s a list of other area games tonight:

A-L-O (4-4) at Alden-Hebron (2-6)

A-W (5-3) at Mercer County (5-3)

L-P (5-3) at Kaneland (4-4)

Morrison (2-6) at E-P (6-2)

Newman (5-3) at Kewanee (8-0)

Rockridge (4-4) at Orion (4-4)

Sherrard (0-8) at Riverdale (0-8)

Note: The BCR and Shaw Media Sports team will have complete coverage of the IHSA playoff pairings, which will be announced Saturday night.
