A boil order has been lifted for St. Anne water customers, after crews earlier this weekend made stopgap repairs to a crumbling section of "ancient" pipe on East Avenue.
"There's going to be work on it tomorrow but the boil order has been lifted for everyone," St. Anne Village Clerk Ken Blum said late Sunday afternoon.
The boil order actually went into effect Friday after "sizable section" of aging water main broke in at least two places on East Avenue Thursday night, he said.
There are still some minor leaks and more permanent repairs are expected as officials eye calling in outside crews to help, he added.
